Outline Programme

August 8th Flight London - Sofia with representative at check-in and on flight.
Transfer to hotel.
Welcome meeting with briefing on coming day's activities.
Sightseeing tour of Sofia including visit to Alexander Nevski Memorial Cathedral.
August 9th Breakfast
Departure by coach to Plovdiv with stop at Batchkovo Monastery for sightseeing.
Day tour 180km.
Night in Plovdiv.
August 10th Breakfast
Walking tour round the old city and visiting the famous amphitheatre ruins.
Departure to Varna and Kavarna.
Day tour 300 km.
August 11th Eclipse Day.
Breakfast.
Short drive to unique site on the coast to view the Eclipse during the morning. Celebration lunch in traditional restaurant with guest speaker, eclipse souvenir photographs.
August 12th Breakfast.
Either relax on beach, wander round the town and port of Varna or take a tour to nearby Black Sea resorts, botanical gardens.
August 13th Breakfast.
Depart to Veliko Tarnovo.
Brief stop at Arbanassy village.
Afternoon walking tour of ancient city of Veliko Tarnovo.
Evening spectacular open-air son et lumiere show.
Night in Veliko Tarnovo.
Day tour 260 km.
August 14th Breakfast.
Depart to Sofia stopping en route to visit Dryanovo and Drianovski Monastery.
Evening farewell meal with Bulgarian hosts.
August 15th Breakfast.
Transfer to airport.
Return flight Sofia-London.
